Mathews Injury Update

Reports are saying that San Diego may take it easy on Ryan Mathews this Sunday as he was held out of practice with a high ankle injury. To be safe I would bench Mathews and start Tolbert as he will get the bulk of the carries. Tolbert is a bruiser of a back so expect some scores if San Diego is on the goal line. This guy can run through people all though he lacks speed and cuts. He could have a big day and if reports are true I would say start Tolbert.

Week 3 in Fantasy Football

WR: Demaryius Thomas
So last week there were quite a lot of surprises in the Fantasy Football world. Jabar Gaffney, the touted #1 on the Denver Broncos has become what I believed he would at the beginning , the # 2. Demaryius Thomas emerged as QB Kyle Orton's go to guy last sunday with 8 receptions for 97 yards and a score. Very solid numbers and I predict an on going trend. If you look at the stats from last year, Brandon Marshall had 101 receptions with 1120 yards. Now Orton loves the big wide receivers and when Marshall left in comes Thomas, an almost replica of Marshall. I predict Thomas is going to put up huge numbers as Denver's running game lacks a lot of pizazz and Orton loves to set up short completions and move the chains. This leads to high numbers of receptions, the occasional big play, and of course scores. Now if Thomas can stay healthy then he has the skills to become a top 10 receiver if Orton keeps looking his way.
Analysis: All in on Thomas, Folding on Gaffney

RB Drama:
Ryan Mathews, San Diego's number one draft pick that was supposed to be what they needed, has been a fantasy let down especially for his draft position. With V-Jax out and the passing attack looking for a number one, which I still believe will be TE Antonio Gates followed by Floyd, I expected Mathews to flourish. Instead he's been fumbling and bumbling around in the backfield. Some stats, WK1: 19 carries 75 yards, WK2: 5 carries for 26 yards. Now week two he looked strong at first I was like this is it, this is the game Mathews shows what he can do. Boom ankle injury. Luckily it's not serious for his owners, but with a big game like Mike Tolbert had owners of Mathews need to scramble to their waiver wire. Tolbert rushed to the tune of 16 carries 82 yards and 2 scores, a huge game that pushed Sproles back to number 3 and may lead to Tolbert becoming a great Flex play if he vultures td's from Mathews. I still believe if Mathews can stay healthy he will be a top 10 back, but he hasn't shown it yet. San Diego at Seattle, I'll be tuned in just to see how Mathews fairs. Until then Mathews owners if you can get Tolbert at all costs.
Analysis: Checking on Mathews, Raising on Tolbert

Oh, Brandon Jackson what to do with you? A beautiful present that is becoming the starting RB on  one of in not THE deadliest offense in the league and you do this to me? Ahh Brandon what to do, what to do? A stout Chicago defense that has played very strong against the run awaits you Monday, but your upside for being on a deadly offense is remarkable. An 11 carry 29 yard performance. This would be reasonable cause for immediate concern if it wasn't for the touchdown. Strong upside but,  John Kuhn who played better and recent rumors of Marshawn Lynch interest in Green Bay has me concerned. I say bench him this week as Chicago will play the run strongly on MNF, but if this continues against Detroit, fold em
Analysis: Checking on Jackson

Other notable pick up's:
Louis Murphy(WR Oak) liked him from the get go, but with Campbell benched I say All in
Jason Snelling(RB Atl) either a handcuff against a Turner or a safety net if you own Turner pick up if you have the bench space
Marcedes Lewis(TE Jax) This isn't a fluke. All In
Nate Washington(WR Ten) They can't run the ball every play, can they?
Miami D/St:  Jets offense is no Vikings, not even close pick them up only this week
Danny Amendola( WR Stl) If your in a deep league look for the little man who Bradford loves.

Fold Em':
Jabar Gaffney
Felix Jones, just don't see him and Barber seperating themselves
Laurence Maroney
Jason Campbell
Chad Henne
Bronco D/ST
